  1. Tēnā koe Michelle,

Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) is holding our annual Graduation Ceremonies on Friday 12 December 2025 at the Civic Theatre. The second ceremony of the day for our SIT2LRN (distance learners) and Trades & Technology graduates is from 12:15 PM to approximately 2:15 PM. This end-of-year ceremony is a chance for whānau, as well as graduates, to celebrate the successful completion of an academic journey.

Our organisation values its strong links to industry and community stakeholders as many of our graduates take up meaningful employment across Southland or flex their entrepreneurial muscles by launching their own business ventures.

SIT wishes to formally invite you to speak at our third graduation ceremony this year. Based on your years of experience in the Southland community and your employment history, we believe you would be an ideal guest speaker who would resonate and be able to offer some motivation/inspiration to our SIT2LRN (distance learners) and Trades & Technology graduates. It would be wonderful to hear about your employment in the automotive industry, your academic journey with SIT, and the wonderful opportunities that exist in Southland for our graduates – including those within the trades and business sector.

I would be happy to stop by Southern Automobiles for a few minutes to answer any questions you may have. Alternatively, you can reach me on 03 948 2851.

If you could let me know by Friday 12 September whether you would be interested in this opportunity, it would be appreciated. I look forward to your positive response.

    Ngā mihi,

    Warren Smith
    Academic Manager (Acting)
